CTC have recently joined many other manufacturers in moving into the remote monitoring app market for their heat pumps. This new wave of apps will allow heat pump owners to monitor and control their systems remotely to ensure maintenance can be proactive, and to resolve any issues that may occur before they develop.

With the recent unpredictable weather, it is safe to assume the majority of households in the UK have now turned their heating systems on. This also means an increase in breakdown call-outs for our dedicated service team.

The UK government has set a target to be net zero carbon emission by 2050. This will be achieved by reducing the CO₂ we produce within industry, transport and power generation including increasing uptake in renewable electricity generation and decentralising energy production. 

Progress continues at the Glyn Estate in North Wales with several stages of the project now ready for completion.

The most recent UN talks on climate change were held in New York on the 23^rd of September 2019 in the wake of the recent World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) report on climate change.

At isoenergy we are not tied to a particular manufacturer or product to ensure that we find the best solution for each individual project. We also try and test any heat pump within our portfolio in our plant room at our head office to see how they perform under real-world conditions.

isoenergy is now well underway with the installation at a beautiful moated house in Norfolk. The 3x 34kW CTC heat pumps have been installed in the remote plantroom, as well as the collectors in the moat and the EnergyBlade heat exchangers in the moat outflow.

We are often asked to provide specification for a ground source heat pump system using boreholes. When we specify boreholes we normally recommend a closed-loop borehole array over the alternative open-loop system. Isoenergy’s Bertram Beanland explains why.

Here at isoenergy we specify equipment that we have tested thoroughly in our demonstration plantroom. We do this to make sure the performance of the heat pump is going to be what we expect it to be. Rather than just relying on manufacturers’ often-generous, specification and efficiency figures, we install each type of unit on our own heating system then collect real-world data on its performance.

The non-domestic renewable heat incentive has been helping early adopters see a return on their investment in renewable energy for the last eight years. It is due to close to new entrants in March 2021 and there is currently no plan to replace it. So it seems a little strange that Ofgem are now, at this stage, demanding planning permission for ground source heat pumps to be eligible for the subsidy.
