CTC have recently joined many other manufacturers in moving into the remote monitoring app market for their heat pumps. This new wave of apps will allow heat pump owners to monitor and control their systems remotely to ensure maintenance can be proactive, and to resolve any issues that may occur before they develop.

The CTC Connect+ system has easy to read graphs and figures for monitoring which can provide alerts to your phone to keep you up to date with the system’s condition. The system gives heat pump owners the ability to boost hot water supply when required and also to remotely set their heat pumps remotely to “Holiday mode” to reduce electricity consumption when the property is unoccupied.

Other manufacturers are also active in the development of similar apps, with Ecoforest and Nibe already providing web portals that are accessible from all internet enabled devices. The Ecoforest EasyNet and Nibe Uplink portals both have similar functionality to the CTC portal and afford system owners similar levels of monitoring capability.

Whilst ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps are a proven technology and now widely used all over the globe, the ability to monitor a system more easily should promote preventative maintenance allowing the heat pump system to run more efficiently and for longer. This is a vital development within the industry as the UK shifts to a smarter, greener and more efficient methods of heating than traditional fossil fuel based boilers.

Remote monitoring equipment can now be fitted or retrofitted to a range of heat pumps to allow owners to take full advantage of this functionality. If you would like to see if your heat pump can be upgraded to allow remote monitoring, please contact the team at Isoenergy today.
