The installer who fitted this manifold arrangement seems to only be comfortable using compression fittings. Compression fittings will normally leak given half a chance. Particularly where there is a change in temperature going on, like in a heat pump ground array. No wonder they fitted a top up pipe for the client to keep the pressure in the ground array where it is supposed to be. An arrangement like this is impossible to balance. This means all the flow is probably going down just one of the boreholes. At least they helpfully labelled all the pipes for us to rip out.

This client needed a proper manifold and pit to be fitted to get their system working correctly.
