Although potentially connected to the mains gas grid, the new owner took the opportunity during renovation work to move away from a fossil fuel system and rely entirely on the ground source heat pump. The challenge on this site was space: although space in the plant room was limited, the in-house design team at isoenergy were able to provide a plan which enabled sufficient room for maintenance whilst still allowing for daily access to other appliances.
Spatial heating and hot water are provided by an Ecoforest ground source heat pump, with energy collected from the array of three 100m boreholes. A 240 litre domestic hot water tank was installed.
