isoenergy was recently asked by Castellum Construction to design and install a site-wide ground source heat pump system for a domestic development on the outskirts of Cirencester.

The site, overlooking the undulating hills of the Cotswolds, consisted of three barns that were being converted into a large domestic residence, an annex and further ancillary accommodation. isoenergy installed a 30kW CTC Ground Source Heat Pump connected to five x 125m boreholes drilled by Synergy Boreholes. Alongside the heat pump in the plant room is an 800L hot water cylinder and 500L buffer tank to ensure the site's complete heating and hot water needs are met throughout the year.

We connected the plant room to each building using pre-insulated distribution pipe buried underground. To ensure the client's comfort levels are achieved, a secondary return pump is connected to the hot water distribution pipework to ensure instant hot water throughout the site.

The client will experience significant savings compared to the equivalent fossil fuel system and they have reduced the CO2 emissions of their heating system by over 70%.
