Project specification

  • Property type: Residential
  • Technologies installed:
  • Collector type:
  • Size (kW): 22
  • New/retrofit: Retrofit
  • Brand: EcoForest

isoenergy was approached by the new owners of a period house in North Wales who were interested in reducing the building’s carbon emissions.

Following a detailed consultation, isonergy recommended a 22kW Ecoforest ground source heat pump along with a 300L heating buffer tank and two 300L hot water cylinders. Due to the limited incoming electrical supply, the heat pump was integrated with an oil boiler that was controlled to take over the spatial heating once the external temperature dropped below a defined point.

The heat pump and buffer tank were carefully installed within the cellar, the hot water cylinders were installed in a cupboard in the room above due to the height restrictions of the cellar.

Our client now has a heating system that emits over 75% less carbon than when the property was exclusively using oil, this equates to over 9,700kg CO2/annum.

Key features:

  • Ecoforest 22kW heat pump
  • Cordivari 300L heating buffer tank
  • Two Joule 300L hot water tanks
