Located in the heart of the rural West Country, Hillside is an excellent example of an isoenergy project where we have adapted the standard ground source heat pump theory to suit the specific requirements of a property.

Three methods of heat collection were used to provide spatial heating, hot water and swimming pool heating at Hillside. 900 meters of 40mm MDPE ground loops were buried in long 1m deep and 1m wide trenches, two EnergyBlade heat exchangers were installed in a small stream on the property and an Ecoforest aerotherm unit was also installed to ensure the system would always be able to satisfy the houses heating requirement even during the peak heating season.

After the system was commissioned the owners were able to claim the renewable heat incentive (RHI) for the proportion of the output directed to spatial heating and domestic hot water. This means that they receive quarterly payments from the Government and should expect to see the system pay for itself within the seven years of the scheme.
