This impressive barn conversion was derelict when isoenergy first visited in early 2019 and over the last couple of years it has been carefully restored to its former glory. Our clients wanted to get away from fossil fuels and, following careful consultancy and guidance from isoenergy, opted for a ground source heat pump.

The 14kW CTC ground source heat pump feeds a 300L domestic hot water tank and 300L heating buffer tank. Outside, Synergy Boreholes drilled three 120m boreholes which feed into a wall-hung manifold in the plant room and these will provide sufficient energy for all the building's heating and hot water. A solar PV array set within the roof complements the heat pump.

The property is another great example of how a well-designed heat pump system can provide significant running cost and carbon reductions.
