Why is it important to maintain your heat pump?

Monday, 01 August 2022 10:59

As with most moving and functioning technology, maintenance and servicing are key to keeping the equipment at peak efficiency throughout its life cycle. This is the same for heat pumps. For example, a car requires regular maintenance and servicing to keep the vehicle running properly, and as a result, the car will last for longer. Both ground source and air source heat pumps require yearly maintenance. Heat pumps should provide efficient heating for years without needing any major work if regular maintenance is carried out.

isoenergy starts work on the Kingston Lacy heat pump project for the National Trust

Wednesday, 27 July 2022 10:35

Kingston Lacy in Dorset is a beautiful National Trust property that was previously using 30,000 litres of oil each year to heat the property releasing 60 tonnes of COinto the atmosphere. As part of its ongoing renewable energy drive, the trust has selected isoenergy to install a new ground source heat pump system to reduce the carbon emissions and heating costs.

How efficient are ground source heat pumps?

Wednesday, 22 June 2022 10:48

There are many renewable technologies that can be used to green your home or business, like solar panels. However, the most impactful change you can make is by replacing the old, inefficient fossil fuel heating system with a heat pump system. Heat pumps can replace boilers by using the naturally occurring heat from the earth instead of harmful fossil fuels like oil and gas. In the case of an air source heat pump, the heat is drawn from the air. A ground source uses heat from the ground or a water sourse. Both technologies only require electricity to power them.

Why is it important to have an energy-efficient home?

Wednesday, 27 April 2022 09:02

The UK is slowly progressing towards a sustainable future with more homes installing renewable solutions to help reduce the total reliance and use of fossil fuels. A perfect example of this is the recent Insulate Britain movement that saw huge amounts of media coverage across the UK. Even though the delivery can be questioned, the overarching theme of poorly insulated homes within the UK couldn’t be more correct.

5 reasons you should consider solar energy as your renewable power source

Wednesday, 20 April 2022 08:07

Solar energy is the perfect solution to creating your own renewable property. Simply using wasted space on a roof can make a huge difference to not only your electricity bills but also on a global scale. Creating your own solar electricity can begin to impact the amount of harmful generation within the UK. As seen in the past year, the rise in electricity demand, from people staying at home, saw a huge increase in natural gas being used to meet the demand. Creating your own green, environmentally friendly, energy can make a difference.

A Complete Guide to Air Source Heat Pumps

Wednesday, 13 April 2022 08:44

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) are becoming the future of domestic heating. Replacing fossil fuel boilers with these renewable units will guide the UK along the path towards a greener future. As technology has developed, some ASHPs are now able to provide hot water temperatures of up to 70oC, satisfying any hot water needs.
