Those of you claiming the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) for your renewable energy system might be aware that Ofgem have the right to inspect your installation to check compliance with the regulations. We have now been made aware that they have the right to inspect your installation without prior notice. We know this because one of the systems installed in our offices at isoenergy was checked yesterday.

Ofgem are entitled to conduct these unannounced compliance audits under terms of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), Part 9; Regulation 85. The main purpose of the site audit is to verify the accuracy of information provided during your application for the RHI and to check the system is compliant.

When the auditor arrived yesterday, they wanted to see the documentation for the system and take a look at the ground source heat pump system itself. After taking some photos and looking through our paperwork, the auditor was soon on his way, the whole process taking about 20 minutes.

If your system was installed by isoenergy, all the required documentation will be found in your green folder handover packs and you should have records of your application from when you first joined the scheme.

If you have any concerns over these compliance audits, would like to discuss your system, or need any information following and audit, please get in touch or call us on 01293 821 345
