In 10 days time (Sunday 23rd April) our lead consultant Edward Levien will be running the 26.2 miles of the Virgin London Marathon on behalf of the Brain Research Trust.

Brain Research Trust is the umbrella charity for research into conditions of the brain and nervous system. They were established in 1971 to promote and support research into the causes, treatment, prevention and cure of neurological diseases.

They fund basic and clinical research at neurological centres of excellence throughout the United Kingdom. Since Brain Research Trust was founded, they have given over £40 million to the IoN to help finance their research programmes and PhD studentships.

There are more than 250 neurological conditions. With public support Brain Research Trust can continue investigating conditions including Alzheimer's Disease, Brain Tumours, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Parkinson's Disease, Epilepsy, Motor Neurone Disease, Migraine, CJD, Brain Trauma and Spinal Cord Regeneration.

They do not receive any government funding and they rely on the generosity of their supporters and this is part of the reason Edward has decided to run for them. You can find out more about his reasons on his fundraising page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/edwardlevien

We wish Edward all the best of luck on the day and he will be cheered round the course by various members of the company.
