Oak Cottage is a Grade II listed property set on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. Our clients wished to remove their expensive and polluting oil-fired boiler and replace it with a ground source heat pump.

isoenergy designed and installed a 22kW Ecoforest ground source heat pump system with a 500 litre hot water cylinder and a 200 litre buffer tank. The plant equipment was connected to four 144 meter deep boreholes drilled by Synergy Boreholes. As part of wider site works, our client was building a detached orangery within the grounds that required spatial heating. We connected the new heating system to the orangery using pre-insulated distribution pipe.

Our plant room replaced the previous boiler room within the main house and our equipment was carefully selected to ensure it would operate quietly within the property.

The installation of the heat pump will significantly reduce the running costs of this difficult-to-heat property as well as reducing the carbon emissions of the building by over 70%.
