isoenergy was approached by the new owners of Woodfolds to design and install a ground source heat pump system capable of meeting all of their heating and hot water needs throughout the site.

Set within the Cotswold Water Park, Woodfolds is a Grade II listed country house with an internal area of approximately 600m2. isoenergy installed a 40kW Ecoforest ground source heat pump with a 800 litre hot water cylinder and a 500 litre buffer tank. The 40kW Ecoforest unit can modulate its output between 12-40kW to cope as efficiently as possible with the changing seasonal demands of a domestic home.

In the paddock, there is 2,100m of collector pipework connected to a seven-port manifold. The manifold was linked to the plant room with 2 x 175m flow and return pipes. The design of the collector array was carefully thought through to take advantage of the high points within the paddock and to work within the confines of the field whilst always ensuring there is not too much pipework in too small a space.

The property previously used oil central heating system so the client can expect their running costs to reduce by approximately 50% and the building's carbon emissions to fall by over 70%.
