After months of careful planning and design the installation of a ground-source heat pump at Greenham Barton, Somerset is now underway.

Greenham Barton is a Grade I listed, 13th century manor house with many original features such as solid walls and open fireplaces. As a result, properties like Greenham Barton are often thought to be too difficult to heat or too thermally inefficient and leaky for a ground source heat pump heating and hot water solution but, with careful design and detailed consultation, we are able to deliver exceptional levels of efficiency and comfort throughout. The thermal mass of a building like this adds to the efficiency when a weather compensated ground source heat pump is used.

We are currently installing the horizontal ground collector array in a nearby field and connections to the outbuildings, which will also be heated by the heat pump. We will be posting updates on the progress of this project so sign up to the isoenergy energy newsletter to be kept in touch as work starts in the plant room.
