As you may already be aware, the Government are about to introduce a cap to the domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) which will limit the total amount you'll be paid through the scheme.

The cap limits the amount of energy you are paid for to a maximum of 30,000kWh or less, depending on the technology you install. This means that for the next seven years the maximum annual payment you will receive through the domestic RHI will be approximatly:

However, there may be a more attractive option available to you.

The non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive is becoming more popular due to the fact you will be paid for twenty years rather than seven. It's highly likely you'll qualify for the non-domestic RHI if you meet any of the following criteria:

  • Need to heat multiple buildings from the same system (annex, workers quarters, office space or guest accommodation all qualify).
  • If you pay business rates on your property or surrounding buildings.
  • If part of your house is a separate dwelling with its own kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.
  • If you have a commercial use for the energy our system provides (large hot water usage, farms, stables etc).

At isoenergy part of the service we provide is to advise our clients on a solution that is going to maximise any savings and incentive payments they'll receive whilst also ensuring the system is practical and suits the needs of the end user. If you'd like to find out if you can qualify for the non-domestic RHI, contact us today on 01293 821 345.
