A question we receive time and time again from heat pump owners is, "Do ground source heat pumps need servicing?" Just like other heating systems, heat pumps need to be serviced at least once a year. Isoenergy’s Joe Hannan explains how keeping your heat pump serviced is not only needed to keep the system running efficiently but is necessary to keep the manufacturer’s warranty valid and your renewable heat incentive payments from being interrupted in the case of a breakdown.

Having installed heat pumps for over a decade, we have experienced a wide range of properties, with varying levels of insulation. However, we often encounter people who have been told that heat pumps either do not create enough hot water or can’t cope with the variable British weather. Both are untrue. As of June 2020 BEIS has announced through OFGEM a reduction (degression) in the tariff for renewable ground source heat pump installations over and above 100kW.

Actions by isoenergy in recent months have helped steer the business through the COVID19 epidemic. Overcoming challenges such as delivery problems, with hardware coming from both northern Italy and Spain and difficulties finding accommodation for staff when working away from the South East. The construction industry has been able to continue working where we can provide safe working conditions. Isoenergy has managed to remain busy and, as of this week, return the remaining furloughed employees to work in a safe environment at our main office in Horley.

Since the last update, despite the lockdown being in effect, we have been able to continue installing the heat pump system at The Vyne.

According to a report from Drax Electric Insights, in the first quarter of 2020 renewable energy overtook all other means of power production in the UK.

In March 2020, as COVID 19 began to take hold of world economies, car sales in the UK fell 44.4% compared to the same month a year earlier and the year-to-date sales were down 31.0%. This concerning statistic for the industry is the result of dealerships and factories going into lockdown whilst travel in general remained heavily restricted. However, there is one market segment that is bucking the trend.
