Isoenergy’s Helen McIntosh was recently invited to the House of Commons event supporting Women’s Rugby.

The event was organised by the RFU to launch a new strategy for recruiting 100,000 more females to be involved in the sport. Helen was invited because of her instrumental role championing women’s rugby at a grass roots level and developing the sport in the South East.

The winning England team from the Women’s Rugby World Cup on August 17th in Paris were at the event along with the trophy.  Also Bill Beaumont as the chairman of the RFU, Helen Grant Minister for Sport and Tourism at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and Sky sports were all in attendance. Whilst there, Helen met Marlie Packer the former plumber who has just been offered a professional contract by the RFU.

isoenergy is involved in the work that Helen does for the development of girls rugby by providing promotional materials and sponsorship for West Kent Divas.  WKD are a cluster group formed three years ago to bring together a group of 6-8 girls leaving mini rugby who wanted to carry on playing.  West Kent Divas now have in excess of 25 players training and playing on a regular basis. You can see West Kent Divas in action or visit the WKD website.
