Active heat recovery

The Nilan ventilation system is a heat recovery and ventilation system ensuring that the humid contaminated air is continuously replaced by temperature controlled filtered fresh air. 

It operates by extracting energy from heat produced within the dwelling from lighting, domestic appliances, showers, bathrooms, utility rooms etc. The recovered heat produces hot water and heating. The unit has a 180 litre hot water cylinder which is protected from corrosion by a double layer glass coating. It is insulated with a 50 mm mineral wool layer covered with aluminium foil.

The Nilan system has an optional heat exchanger which allows for external heating of hot water which can be used in conjunction with radiators and/or under floor heating. Likewise it can be delivered with a cooling feature where the incoming fresh filtered air is cooled using the exhaust air to heat the hot water.

Indoor air quality maybe compromised by contaminates (mould and bacteria), chemicals, (Carbon Monoxide, radon), allergens, evaporation from furniture, carpets, cooking, smoking even an overproduction of mites. These can have a negative impact on health. 

Passive house standard buildings have highly effective thermal insulation and are airtight. These houses save energy and have low energy costs. The Nilan VP18 -10P provides the necessary ventilation to ensure standards of comfort are not compromised.
